The Ministry of Defense has temporarily appointed Colonel Jorge Alberto Huarte as Director General of Legal Affairs for 180 business days, starting the day after the resolution is issued. Huarte will report to the Undersecretariat of Administrative Management and will serve under the regime of the Law for Military Personnel, which authorizes active-duty officers to hold positions in the Defense Ministry. The position is equivalent to Level A, Grade 0, with Executive Function I of the SINEP agreement, as established in Article 1 of Resolution 112/2026. The regulation indicates that the position is vacant and funded, and its filling does not imply the allocation of extraordinary resources to the Ministry. Defense must call for a competition and fill the director general position through the existing selection systems within 180 business days from the day after the appointment. The associated expenditure will be covered by the budget items of the General Army Staff, in accordance with Article 3 of the resolution. The measure orders the notification of Huarte and the communication of the appointment to the organizational design and public employment areas of the Ministry of Deregulation and State Transformation before its publication and filing, as confirmed by the Noticias Argentinas agency.
